Justice League x RWBY: Super Heroes and Huntsmen Part Two

Even more fun than part one was the opportunity to work on Justice League x RWBY part two. This most exciting part for me was that I'd be working with Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and the Flash in their more recognizable costumes.

Workflow for part two was the same as part one. Environments were pre-lit by the Look-Dev department. Crowds, 2D FX, and 3D FX were provided by the Crowds and FX teams respectively. For my assigned shots, I lit and rendered characters using Pencil+ 4 in 3DS Max. Environments and utility passes were rendered out of Maya using Redshift Renderer. I composited all my shot assets in Nuke.

Say what you want about the character lighting, but I'm posting this because I was so excited about working on a project with Batman in it!!! Character Lighting was done in Pencil+ 4 in 3DS Max. Specular lighting was done in comp using Nuke.

How could I not include this. I got to light some of my childhood favorite super heroes.

And I got to continue lighting some of my favorite Huntresses.

I used the actual 2D blast FX to make some colored interactive lighting that I added to the tendrils of this Grimm in comp.
